My dad has a blue/gray one:

Like this one, but with the wheels of the one you saw.

These were sold in such high numbers as company cars that the dealers couldn’t manage delivering them before 2016, which was needed for tax reasons.

These paticular wheels seem to collect a lot of brake dust. I have seen a lot of them around. I really like the style. I also saw a new 508 wagon today as well that was quite nice looking. The build quality and materials on these look to be a big improvement from the previous generation of Peugeots. What makes them so popular as company cars?

The combination of being nice cars and the ability of taking advantage of a tax loophole.

In 2015 it were these 308 wagons, in 2013 it were Ford Focus and Renault Megane wagons. Dutch car tax is very erratic and steep and hardly impacted by real world conditions, causing specific models to be considerably cheaper (far less heavily taxed) than similar cars, resulting in people flocking to those vehicles that slip through the cracks. It seems to be getting a little bit better now.

The brake dust isn’t too bad, but a lot of company cars are neglected a bit. Or it could be that I don’t notice the brake dust because my dad washes his once every two weeks though.

The style of the most recent Peugeots is nice, way better than the mid to late 2000 ones.

Regarding the popularity, exactly what duurtlang says.

This was parked in front of the event I am at. I suppose it likely belongs to the planning company putting on the event. Would make a good car to move all of thes folding tables, banners, PA system and such.

Could be, though people tend to resort to a van for such duties, though it’s got quite a large boot for its size.
